We almost had a disaster this month. The electricity meter caught fire. We were waiting for a new supply so that we could change the wiring in the barn. Another few weeks and we would have been OK. You can see what the original wiring was like if you go to January. Fortunately Michael was there and he called the Fire Brigade. There was very little damage and the EDF had the power back on the next morning.

Firemen waiting for the electricity to be disconnected.

The extension will have a genoise rather than soffits and facias. They come ready made in 1m lengths.

The genoise is locked together with reinforced concrete to form a continuous beam

What was left of the meter cabinet in the morning. Lucky it wasn’t a wooden barn.

Another view showing the genoise.

The lounge still needs some work, but we do have a chair now.
